Nursing registry of Republika Srpska, a unique information system that enables comprehensive monitoring of the nursing workforce and contributes to the development of the nursing profession was presented in Banja Luka. This system, already in use in public health institutions, is now being expanded to the private sector, ensuring unified access to data and stronger coordination in planning human resources in healthcare.

The Registry was presented to nurses employed in private health institutions throughout Republika Srpska. The goal of the activity was to inform participants about the importance and functionalities of the system and enable their active involvement in the registration process.

Milan Latinovic, Assistant Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Republika Srpska, Mirjana Jankovic, Senior Expert Associate for Nursing and Eldin Fisekovic, Strengthening Nursing in BiH Project Manager presented the importance of the Registry for the health system and nursing profession.

The speakers emphasized that Nursing Registry is an important tool to improve the planning, management and development of the nursing profession, as it enables the collection of accurate data on the number, educational structure, competencies and professional engagement of nurses in Republika Srpska. This creates the conditions for strategic planning of human resources in healthcare, monitoring system needs and creation of evidence-based policies.

Practical training on how to register in the Registry was organized by the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of Republika Srpska and Fami Foundation, within the Strengthening Nursing in Bosnia and Herzegovina project. During the training, the participants had the opportunity to get familiar with the technical aspects of registration, the method of entering and updating data, and to ask specific questions regarding the registration process.

This activity represents an important step in ensuring complete and up-to-date records of the nursing workforce in Republika Srpska, which will contribute to better planning, greater recognition and professional development of nurses in the health system.
