Primary health care centers in Knezevo, Mrkonjic Grad and Celinac are richer in new vehicles and equipment that will enable provision of more efficient community nursing services, especially to the population in remote and difficult-to-reach areas.

The vehicles were provided under Strengthening Nursing in Bosnia and Herzegovina project (ProSes), supported by the Government of Switzerland, with the aim of improving the availability and quality of primary health care services.

In addition to the vehicles, representatives of the primary health care centers were also granted community nursing bags with the medical equipment needed in home visits, as well as office equipment for nursing rooms where preventive community nursing services will be provided. This will improve nurses’ daily working conditions and enhance preventive measures designed to preserve public health.

Nurses who will use the new equipment have previously completed additional community nursing training within the project, thus improving the knowledge and practical skills needed for provision of community nursing services in patients' homes and local communities. Such an approach allows for timely support to people who have difficulty accessing healthcare facilities due to their health condition, age or place of residence.

By strengthening the capacities of primary health care centers, improving nurses’ competencies and providing modern equipment and vehicles, the project continues to contribute to the development of community nursing and the creation of a more accessible, high-quality and sustainable health care system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
