Center for Continuing Education of Nurses was opened at the University Clinical Center of Republika Srpska as a part of Strengthening Nursing in Bosnia and Herzegovina project implemented by Fami Foundation and institutionally supported by the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of Republika Srpska.
This Center will provide nurses with a space for continuous professional development, knowledge exchange and improvement of professional skills. Continuous education is an important segment of the development of the nursing profession and one of the key prerequisites for improving the quality and safety of healthcare.
The University Clinical Center of Republika Srpska provided space and logistical support for center’s operations, while Strengthening Nursing in Bosnia and Herzegovina project provided necessary equipment and furniture, thus allowing for the organization of different types of nursing professional development.
The Center at the UCC of Republika Srpska is the first in a network of centers for continuing education that will be established also in other healthcare institutions throughout Republika Srpska in the coming period. Their goal is to strengthen nurses’ professional competencies and to provide support to their continuous professional development.
Strengthening Nursing in Bosnia and Herzegovina project is focused on improving nursing profession through the development of nurses’ competencies, strengthening their professional position and contributing to a better healthcare system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
