The training "Leadership in Nursing" was held in Jahorina, bringing together nurses from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska to jointly work on strengthening their leadership, organizational and communication skills, and further strengthen the professional role of nursing in the healthcare system.

The training goal was to develope a modern approach to leadership in nursing, with a special focus on practical work, exchange of experiences and joint reflection on the challenges that nurses face in their daily work. The presented topics were about improving the quality of health services, strengthening teamwork, organizational skills, as well as retaining staff within the profession and the role of nurses as carriers of change within healthcare institutions.

During the training it was emphasized that strong and competent nursing is one of the key pillars of a functional and sustainable health system and that continuous investment in the knowledge, skills and nurse leadership directly contributes to improved health care for citizens.

The training was implemented under Strengthening Nursing in Bosnia and Herzegovina project, which is implemented by Fami Foundation, Federal Ministry of Health and Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of Republika Srpska, supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in BiH. The project goal is to improve the professional status of nursing, strengthen the competencies of health professionals and strengthen the health systems in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the long run.
