The training "Strengthening managerial and communication skills of nurses in Republika Srpska" was held in Jahorina as a part of Strengthening Nursing in Bosnia and Herzegovina project.

The training was attended by nurses working in numerous private health institutions in Republika Srpska as well as in the Institute for Dialysis and Transplantation, Public Health Institute and specialized hospitals.

The importance of communication in health institutions, development of nurses’ communication skills and importance of the nurses’ role in the health system as well as the need to strengthen managerial competencies were discussed during the training. Special focus was placed on practical work, experience sharing and mentoring support from experienced colleagues.

Part of the training was also dedicated to the promotion of Nursing Workforce Registry in Republika Srpska as an important tool for improving the planning and development of the nursing profession.

The training was organized by the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of Republika Srpska and Fami Foundation, with the support of the Embassy of Switzerland in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
