Nursing is not a job, nursing is life. Nursing is a unique vocation that, in addition to knowledge and skills, requires the most beautiful human traits - humanity and dedication. A nurse must be emotionally mature and stable, professional and responsible, able to understand the patient's feelings and behaviors and ready to work independently and in a team.

Through theoretical and practical classes during my studies, I learned about planning and providing nursing care and establishing adequate communication with the patient and the family. A professor has a crucial influence on student's personality development. In the future, I would like to joint the teaching process and pass on to younger generations the knowledge and skills gained through many years of work and education.

Nurses are the most numerous group of health professionals and it is impossible to imagine the modern health system functioning without them. One of the priorities of modern states is higher nurse education that is continuously developed in accordance with international standards. In the times of rapid changes and accelerated development of modern technology, continuous professional development is a must. The future of nursing in BIH mostly depends on well-trained and educated nurses who will join European nursing through education, creation of independent health policy and research in the field of nursing. The marginalized, unrecognized and poorly respected nursing profession should transform to an authentic and autonomous profession.
