Second cycle of nursing studies at the Nursing Faculty in Mostar
Head Nurse of the PHCC Ljubuski

Since I was a child I have loved helping people around me. A neighbor who worked as a nurse and occasional visits to health care
facilities additionally increased my interest for this profession.

A possibility to get a scholarship from the Strengthening Nursing in BIH project, twenty years after completing my undergraduate studies in Zagreb and working in the health system, was an ideal opportunity for me to continue my formal education. During the graduate studies I significantly expanded my skills in handling highly sophisticated modern technology, improved knowledge of human resource management and learned to conduct independent research and provide critical analysis required to work with students in the field.

After graduation, I plan to continue improving the much needed competencies in my practice given the challenges faced by the
nursing profession. I would also like to complete the doctoral studies should the circumstances allow and to be involved in working with students.

I believe that the secondary nurse education reform and the introduction of specializations at the higher education levels are much needed in BIH.

In my opinion there is a huge need for ProSes’ continuous assistance in nurse higher education reform given what has been achieved in just five years.
