After the successful training of trainers held in Neum, the second part of the training under "Strengthening Nursing in Bosnia and Herzegovina" project followed in Bijeljina. Nurses from different parts of BiH gathered in one place, with the common goal of strengthening their leadership, communication and organizational capacities.

The presence of Katharine Nydegger, Head of the Health Portfolio at the Embassy of Switzerland in BiH emphasized particular importance of this event, confirming once again the strong and long-standing commitment of the Swiss Government to improving the health sector in our country.

The "ProSes" project implementation has been supported for years now by the Swiss Government, directed to continuous strengthening of the nursing profession and development of nurses' leadership throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the three-day workshops, nurses took on an active leadership role – as presenters and lecturers – with the professional support of mentors focused on strengthening their communication and leadership skills. The workshops offered a possibility for the exchange of knowledge, experiences and ideas, further empowering participants to cope with professional challenges and undertake future leadership initiatives in nursing.

The presence of Anita Prelec, President of the Slovenian Nurses and Midwives Association, also added special value to this part of the training. Her rich experience and support for the development of leadership capacities of nurses in BiH further enriched the program and motivated the participants.

The third day of the training was dedicated to the final topics, with a special focus on the campaign “For a Healthier Society”. Working jointly, the participants came up with concrete ideas and initiatives for future action, giving the final training a practical dimension and long-term significance.

Through intensive work, nurses further strengthened their leadership, communication and organizational skills, ready to take on a more active and visible role in improving the nursing profession and the health system as a whole.

The contribution of the Federal Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of Republika Srpska, as well as the support of the Embassy of Switzerland in Bosnia and Herzegovina throughout the implementation of these trainings has been extremely important.
