Another intensive training course for nurses to become true leaders in their environment was held in Vitez from 18 – 21st September. The workshop entitled "Development of Nurses Managerial and Leadership Skills" was jointly organized by the Federal Ministry of Health and Fami Foundation.
Over the curse of four dynamic days, participants covered eight thematic units: healthcare management, team management, decision-making, coaching and mentoring, business communication, social marketing, efficiency, and prevention of professional burnout. Each topic was carefully designed to provide participants with practical knowledge and skills that they can immediately apply in their daily work.
Nurses from the Central Bosnia, Tuzla, Bosnia-Podrinje, and Zenica-Doboj Cantons participated in the training. They all came to Vitez with a clear goal - to acquire knowledge and methods of leadership that they will later on share in their health institutions and local communities, thus raising the quality of health care.
The atmosphere during the workshop was far from classic lectures. Through practical exercises, group work and interactive discussions, participants developed leadership skills, learned how to motivate teams and make strategic decisions that generate changes. Such an approach encouraged the exchange of experiences and the creation of a professional support network among healthcare professionals.
Fami Foundation and the Federal Ministry of Health once again demonstrated the importance of nurses’ continuous professional development. The training program showed that investing in leadership in healthcare directly contributes to strengthening the entire healthcare system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
