The second part of the training on the basics of andragogical didactics, preparing nurses for the role of trainers in the field of community nursing was implemented in Republicka Srpska. Thirteen representatives from eleven healthcare institutions, who continued improving the knowledge and skills necessary for quality planning and implementation of educational processes through a structured and interactive program, attended the training.
The training included nine thematic modules containing key aspects specific for adult learning. The focus was on the preparation and implementation of the educational process, the selection of teaching methods, work forms and assets, defining learning outcomes, understanding group dynamics, the evaluation process, and motivating nurses to actively engage in trainer role.
A special segment of the training was dedicated to the practical presentation of acquired knowledge. Participants demonstrated
their own teaching units, prepared in line with the principles of adult learning, which further empowered them for independent planning and implementation of future training at the institution they work at.
Training was provided by Branka Sladojevic, Head of the Department for Family and Child Welfare at the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of Republika Srpska and Prof. Dr. Drazenko Jorgic, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Banja Luka.
The main goal of this activity is continuous development of nurses teaching capacities i.e. enabling them to successfully implement training within healthcare institutions they work at, providing support to less experienced colleagues and improving the quality of service provision to patients.
